How Long Does Therapy Take?
It can sometimes take a few sessions to work out the best way forward and, as such, therapy is often seen as a commitment. The duration of therapy depends on the reasons for coming and the complexity.
Creativity Within Sessions
There may be situations where you benefit from working creatively, particularly when recalling painful events. Some clients have found it helpful to incorporate art into their sessions as a way of exploring and expressing their emotions.
About Therapy
Sometimes we reach a point in our lives where we really need some support. This may be through friends, family, community, or faith, but sometimes it comes in the form of therapy. You'll know when you've arrived at that point because you'll find yourself here. This is the first step to listening to yourself. I appreciate this can be quite a feat when the noise in your life has been obscuring and blocking you from realising your personal needs.

Perhaps an event has recently occurred which you are finding hard to navigate. Or maybe there is something that has been plaguing you for years, something you have never considered addressing or wanted to tell anyone about. Putting yourself first may not come naturally, especially if your life's path means you have learnt to put others before you. It's really important we recognise when we need help. Sometimes we just need to reach out for support.
We already have the tools needed to effect change, but sometimes we need help in bringing these to the surface and utilising them in a healthy way. As a trained professional, I will help to explore your situation, your life and how you relate to others, and unpick the parts that perhaps are preventing you from moving forwards. Although I cannot offer solutions or advice, I will work with you to help discover your own voice and empower you to make change. I am warm, curious and compassionate, and sometimes, where appropriate, I may prompt you or offer an alternative viewpoint. I may draw your attention towards something which you have been unaware of within yourself, but I will do so gently and with thoughtful consideration. I will always remember and be mindful of the fact that you are a unique individual, and how therapy affects you will always count.
